Itinerary

Location 1

Hotel del Casco, San Isidro

Day 1 & 2

On arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met and privately transferred to your hotel for the next two nights which is located on the city outskirts at San Isidro, near the Tigre Delta. If your flight arrives early in the morning then we suggest a private guided walking tour for a few hours, including a coffee stop as check in at most hotels isn't usually until at least midday.

The next morning you will explore the Tigre Delta on board a small, yet beautiful wooden yacht called 'Connie' for a 3 hour private river cruise with lunch. After your cruise you will be briefed on your self drive route ahead and will be given the necessary maps.

Location 2

Estancia La Violeta, Entre Rios Province

Day 3 & 4

This morning you will receive your rental car and depart the city's bright lights and drive north. Enjoy lunch along the way at El Palmar National Park, arriving at rural La Violeta in the late afternoon. Here they breed sheep, Hereford cattle as well as polo ponies. Polo lesson are not included, but can be arranged.

Day 5 & 6

Continue north to Mercedes where we suggest a stop for lunch, before driving the last stretch to Rincon del Socorro. Rincón del Socorro Reserve is a former cattle ranch, nowadays transformed into a sanctuary for the astonishing nature of Iberá which draws together past, present and future. Once you have settled in you can go for a walk around the property and get to know its surroundings, a little more about its history and the rewilding of the environment that is underway in Iberá. Enjoy a day of activities at Rincon del Socorro. Here you can ride, cycle, kayak, walk - all great ways to get out and about to see the flora and fauna of the area. At additional cost you might like to take a short scenic flight to see the Ibera Wetlands from above.

Location 4

Estancia Santa Ines, Misiones Province

Day 7 & 8

Today you continue on the unpaved roads north to Estancia Santa Inés, Misiones province. Santa Ines was founded over 100 yrs ago by Don Pedro Nunez, a pioneer of the area. It was he who started the production of Yerba Mate - the favourite tea-like drink enjoyed throughout Argentina. Moreover, aboard the ship Espana in 1901 he took the very first tourists to visit Igauzu Falls - a time when reaching them was an adventure in itself.

Enjoy a full day to explore and discover the estancia, which is a fascinating place, surrounded by forest inhabited by families of howler monkeys which, if you are lucky, you will see.
